چکیده
The aim of the study was to reveal and compare microbiota different carbonate speleothems from two epigenic karst regions (Baradla Csodabogyós caves) in Hungary. Stalagmites, stalactites, soda straws, moonmilks, cave wall surfaces dripping waters were sampled plated on subsurface-environment imitating culture media containing low amount nutrients, minerals extract sediments. Diverse oligo-heterotrophic bacterial community composition (192 species phyla Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Firmicutes Bacteroidetes) – with hitherto unknown bacteria varied samples. CaCO3 precipitating capacity 126 strains taxonomical positions tested solid B4 medium. 75% precipitated crystals various morphology colonies metabolic tests showed that higher alkalizing activity led rate precipitation mucoid colonies. Scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission microscopy X-ray diffraction analysis indicated precipitates dominated by calcite, nanosize vaterite identified for Paeniglutamicibacter kerguelensis (strain BaSD-225). Our suggests proteolytic are widespread biofilms caves these can actively contribute formation through their microenvironment.

متن کاملZoogeography and Biodiversity of Missouri Caves and Karst
The Missouri Cave Life Database contains 927 species and about 12,500 observation and collection records. About 1,038 (17%) of Missouri’s 6,200 caves and cave springs are biocaves with at least one species record, but only 491 sites (8%) have five or more species recorded. Missouri has 82 troglobites (67 described, 15 undescribed), including 49 aquatic and 33 terrestrial species. The aquatics i...
متن کاملFormation of amorphous calcium carbonate in caves and its implications for speleothem research
Speleothem deposits are among the most valuable continental formations in paleoclimate research, as they can be dated using absolute dating methods, and they also provide valuable climate proxies. However, alteration processes such as post-depositional mineralogical transformations can significantly influence the paleoclimatic application of their geochemical data. An innovative sampling and me...
متن کاملAn Efficient Protocol for Genomic Dna Isolation from Cultivable Bacteria
A standardized protocol can play a major role in isolation of DNA especially when dealing with bacterial cultures. The aim of the present study was to develop a standard protocol of ultrapure high yield bacterial genomic DNA extraction from bacterial culture suitable for use in molecular biology. Extraction procedure was optimized with series of steps, which involved an unpublished modification...
متن کاملCulturable mycobiota from Karst caves in China, with descriptions of 20 new species
Karst caves are distinctly characterised by darkness, low to moderate temperatures, high humidity, and scarcity of organic matter. During the years of 2014-2015, we explored the mycobiota in two unnamed Karst caves in Guizhou province, China, and obtained 563 fungal strains via the dilution plate method. Preliminary ITS analyses of these strains suggested that they belonged to 246 species in 11...
